What's the best way to burn a Soy Candle?
Our recommended burn time is 3-4 hours. Be sure to trim the wick to 1/4" before each lighting. Always allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jars before extinguishing. This will allow the candle to burn evenly and prevent "tunneling." Be sure never to leave a candle unattended or in reach of children, pets or a draft. Allow the jar to cool completely before handling.
We choose to work with soy wax for a variety of reasons. Soy is carbon neutral and a 100% renewable source, it burns more cleanly and for a longer period of time than paraffin. Soy candles are also better for your health and better for the environment as they are non-toxic and produce 90% less soot than paraffin.
Why does my candle/wax melts have a white coating?
”Frosting” is a natural occurrence in 100% soy wax. All soy waxes frost to some degree and is a sign that you are indeed burning or melting 100% natural soy wax. In no way does frosting affect the way your candle burns or smells!
Can the jar be repurposed?
When a 1/4" of wax remains, discontinue use of the candle. Place your candle in the freezer, let the wax harden and chip away the excess. Soap and water can then be used to remove the wax residue.
How fragrant are your candles?
We find that our candles fill a medium-size room nicely. For larger rooms or rooms with high ceilings we recommend two of our 15 oz. candles, Smaller candles are better burned at a desk or in a small space such as a bathroom. Because we use natural soy wax, our candles will not have the same scent throw as paraffin candles.
